Our vision is to be a recognized leader in service and public protection that delivers trusted, accessible, modern programs, and contributes to Nova Scotia as a safe and desirable place to live, work and do business.About Our OpportunityWorking in a fast paced customer service environment, you support various customer service activities related to the Registry of Motor Vehicles counter transactions, and other Business Programs.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be considered for this summer student opportunity, you are currently a full-time University or Community College student entering or returning to study in the fall or next applicable semester. Service industry experience is required. In addition, you demonstrate:

  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Team player skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills (Word, Internet and Email).
Data entry skills, cash handling and balancing accounts experience and bilingual ability in French and English would be viewed as assets. Proof of educational enrollment may be required.We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.Working ConditionsThis competition is to fill a summer student position. The successful candidate must be available to work during all hours of operation (ie. Monday & Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30am-7:00pm).Additional InformationPlease note, this is expected to be a summer student casual status position with an end date of August 26, 2022; however, the position status (“term”, “temporary” or “casual”) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.On October 6, 2021 the Government of Nova Scotia announced full vaccination will be a condition of employment for new staff being hired.
