Job Description

This posting is for 1 Temporary, Full-time position for up to December 31, 2022Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming and ship all out going shipments for Materials Management, Fleet and Facility Management as well as other Strathcona County departments. Including creating waybills and contacting carriers to arrange shipping
  • Pick parts for the Parts Technicians
  • Stock shelving as required
  • Label parts and bins
  • Deliver parts to Fleet Services Technicians
  • Complete spot check audits for the inventory
  • Operate forklift
  • Assist with duties to support the V&E and Transit shops
  • Cleaning, organizing and general housekeeping of Materials Management Warehouse (V&E and Transit Branches)
  • Assist and provide support to Parts Technicians as necessary
  • Assist and provide support to Supervisor, Material Management as necessary
  • Various administrative tasks related to the Shipper-Receiver function as required (i.e. filing invoices/packing slips)
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with a large user client group
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook
  • Ability to look up information in a computerized Fleet Maintenance System and/or Oracle system
  • A working knowledge of automotive, truck, heavy duty and agriculture equipment to ensure safety and accuracy in operations
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift license
  • Experience with daily use of Fleet Maintenance systems and/or Oracle system preferred
  • Experience in a warehouse or shipping environment would be an asset
  • Experience in automotive/equipment parts of maintenance industry an asset
Conditions of Employment
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
