Job Description

This posting is for 1 Permanent, Full-time positionThe Microsoft Office 365: Records and SharePoint Business Analyst is responsible for providing business analysis and some technical support to Strathcona County’s collaboration and compliance technologies for all departments. This involves assisting departments in striving for continuous improvements in collaboration and compliance technologies as well as supporting the information governance needs of the organization.Responsibilities

  • Analyze the business needs of system stakeholders through a variety of methods to gather and compile user requirements to convey to the technology specialists
  • Assist with interpretation of business requirements to technology capabilities, discuss feasibility of those options and communicate as needed with both business and technology stakeholders as needed
  • Maintain a professional level of knowledge and skill in the areas of business analysis and collaboration technologies, in particular Microsoft, to support Strathcona County’s Information Technology environment and information governance framework
  • Investigate and apply innovative ideas within the policies, technologies, and obligations of the organization to meet its needs
  • Incorporate continuous process improvement efforts to maximize Strathcona County’s investment in technology and service delivery
  • Empower and educate business users about their technologies and how they can support business processes
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness of existing processes, documenting opportunities for improving processes through technology
  • Lead the M365 Owners Community of Practice as a space for owners across the organization to collaborate with and learn from their peers.
  • Establish relationships across the organization to help contribute to service excellence and facilitate enterprise opportunities for improvement
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective written communication with all stakeholders
  • Proven experience in understanding business language and translating into technology needs
  • Ability to clarify required needs with clients
  • Ability to research policy, process and technology options in order to bring a well-rounded perspective to sessions with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Ability to organize and manage own time while clearly and consistently communicating with leaders, both operational and project, about workload and anticipated delivery times
  • Knowledge of technology to understand when teammates are expressing concerns or limitations without the need to work with the systems in an analyst capacity directly
  • Actively participates in knowledge sharing, solution design and other team activities
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in the field of computer science, business administration or another related Information Technology discipline
  • Minimum four (4) years experience as a Business Analyst, developing and supporting business systems
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office 365 is required
  • Experience with SharePoint is an asset
  • Experience with electronic records management systems is an asset
