INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUCCESS AND ENGAGEMENT ADVISORINTERNATIONAL MARKETSNorQuesters are difference makers and we #39;re looking for someone who can find ways forward, be compassionate, and start small and think BIG in the planning, organizing, and implementation of events supporting international student success and retention to join our International team as an International Student Success and Engagement Advisor.Reporting to the Team Lead, International Student Engagement and Settlement Services, the International Student Success and Engagement Advisor assists with Peer Mentorship programs, is actively involved in content generation for new student orientation, workshops, social and cultural activities, and other student engagement activities that support the transition of international students into the larger community. The Advisor helps learners through stakeholder relations to build settlement supports including housing, cultural integration, and informational sessions on topics such as financial literacy and safety.HOW YOU #39;LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE- Coordinate international engagement programs such as cultural events, Onboarding programs like Jumpstart program, peer mentorship programs and other engagement activities.- Engage in promoting the International Student Mentorship program including selecting mentors, organizing mentorship training, and supporting the training of Mentor and mentee.- Promote awareness of the mentorship program to new international students (mentees) and matching mentees to mentors.- Engage in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of weekly Engagement events, both in person and virtual, to enhance the international students #39; experience.- Participate in the planning and organizing of on-going orientation activities that support the continued integration of international students including creating events to serve the unique needs of our learners.- Plan and organize ongoing workshops aimed at strengthening international student success.- Assess international students #39; academic, social, and cultural needs and concerns and implement programs either on or off campus.- Plan and coordinate the key internationalization and cultural events.- Assist with creating and editing content related to international student activities to be used in a variety of promotional materials.- Assist in student content creation for social media channels like NorQuest Instagram and International student testimonials.WHAT YOU BRING- Diploma in a related field, Bachelor #39;s preferred.- 3+ years #39; experience delivering social programs and activities for young adults, combined with experience working within a cross-cultural setting or overseas.- Video creation and editing skill.s- Fluency in another language consistent with current international student enrollment or with languages of prospective students in new and emerging target recruitment markets.WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKERAs a difference maker you bring:- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize social programs for large groups and the ability to act as a role model for participants in a program.- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students and employees at all levels within a large organization.- Considerable knowledge of the unique services necessary for international student #39;s integration and success of international students.- Knowledge of MS Office and database applications.- Demonstrated ability to build and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Ability to create content for social media tools such as Instagram.- Ability to write event reports, newsletters, and other business-related communications.- Proven track record that demonstrates the ability to multitask, apply organization skills to meet deadlines in an environment of conflicting priorities, and work with minimal supervision.- Ability to effectively communicate accurate information in a one-on-one basis or to groups of varying size, including the ability to address large or small groups in both formal and informal settings.- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and cross-cultural sensitivity including the desire and ability to work with a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and with a wide range of authority levels.- Ability to be flexible and resourceful in the performance of job duties.- Ability to organize and conduct workshops and campus tours.SALARY: $2,336 - $3,033 biweekly ($60,724 - $78,850 annually) reflective of what you bring, AKA your experience and education.
