We are actively seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant with experience and knowledge of policies and procedures to join our dynamic team in providing the highest level of service to our clients. As a member of the interdisciplinary team this position is responsible for working all shifts as assigned by the site Senior Technologist. Specifically this position collects specimens, performs sample handling and manipulation, and reports results within the scope of practice of a Medical Laboratory Assistant. Reporting directly to the on-site senior technologists and the Regional Supervisor, the MLA will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the laboratory department. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast pace changing environment. Ability to work independently when necessary. Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills.
