Job Description

Now poised to also serve our customers’ soil stabilization, vac and water, and downhole tool needs, Magnum is well-positioned to provide expertise in all the services that we offer.Under the direction of the HSE and External Compliance Manager, the QHSE Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted. The QHSE Coordinator provides leadership and drives safety culture by planning, promoting, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures that the company is required and/or chooses to follow. The QHSE Coordinator works to minimize operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.Job ResponsibilitiesQHSE

  • Manage, analyze, and recommend improvements, or changes needed to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop and implement internal policies, standards, or procedures.
  • Coordinate with management, staff, and external parties to obtain information needed to support project initiatives and/or meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor, improve, and ensure compliance of Magnum’s QHSE Program.
  • Monitor and promote compliance to company policies, procedures, legislation and client requirements. Work with the Technical Services department to ensure non-compliance is immediately addressed and effectively corrected in a manner that guarantees due diligence is maintained.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date QHSE Manuals.
  • Monitor and Maintain Magnum’s Leading and Lagging Indicators Statistics (Observations, Hazard IDs, Inspections, Incidents, etc.) Ensure these statistics are communicated to all staff regularly (Dashboards, safety meetings, etc)
  • Participate in JHSC (Joint Health Safety Committee) and follow-up on action items.
  • Monitor and update Magnum’s HSE compliance softwares (ISNetworld, Veriforce, Complyworks, Avetta)
  • Monitor, improve, and ensure compliance of Magnum Safety Program and External Customer Audits.
  • Assist team to ensure COR (Certificate of Recognition) Compliance.
  • Work with External COR Auditors to complete External COR Audit (every 3 years).
  • Participate in performing annual internal COR Maintenance Audits.
  • Assist in the development of action plans from COR Audits for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Assist managers or supervisors with the day-to-day operations of HSE functions and duties by directing and mentoring in their own H&S responsibilities (H&S reporting, Job Hazard Assessment, Emergency Response, PPE, site safety inspections, etc.).
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
  • Perform incident, near miss, and first aid investigations related to injuries or potential for serious injury.
  • Maintain records of incidents, accidents, and inspection findings. Produce statistics and reports, as needed, for managers that suggest improvements.
  • Assist with the development of JSA/SOPs and assist in ongoing JSA/SOP revision.
  • Assist with competency training development (MAP) related to safety initiatives and monitor ongoing compliance.
  • Assist in subcontractor prequalification and maintain contractor files and records to support Magnum’s Contractor Management program.
  • Assist in development, monitoring, and compliance of Magnum’s Health and Hygiene program (Respiratory Protection, Audiometric, Radiation Safety)
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
  • Assist with and support Magnum’s Transportation Safety Program, which includes maintaining relevant Transportation Safety Logs and documentation and keeping the Transportation Safety Manual up to date.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and employees to maintain the company’s reputation for quality and commitment to service.
  • Create HSE memos for staff updates
  • Develop and create material for Safety Moments and Safety Meetings
  • Remain up-to-date on Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect Magnum’s industry.
Field Compliance
  • Demonstrate visible commitment and leadership towards QHSE at all times.
  • Assist managers and teams in achieving their role and objectives; review QHSE action plans, participate in and lead field audits and inspections, track progress in closing action items, support the process.
  • Verify QHSE compliance of contractors on field sites.
  • Perform regular scheduled and unscheduled QHSE/field/shop/site/equipment inspections and identify improvement opportunities and solutions.
  • Interact with field staff in QHSE training and Observation / Intervention actions; advise and intervene on unsafe acts / conditions and violations of safety practices and procedures.
  • Assist in planning and organizing safety drills and emergency response exercises and safety culture enhancement activities.
General
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Required:
  • Considerable knowledge of safety principles and practices, as well as a solid understanding of applicable HSE legislation.
  • Ability to identify and recognize unsafe conditions and work practices.
  • Strong analytical abilities and ability to analyze data and trends.
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Experience and ability to use computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software. Proficient experience in MS Office and records management software.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
