Job duties:Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areasAssist Roofers with the install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravelErect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sitesMix, pour, heat, mop and spread materials such as asphaltHelp trades people with install, repair or replace single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositionsAssist tradespersons such as roofers in construction activitiesAssist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activitiesAssist with install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings as requiredHelp prepare and trades people to Install sheet metal flashingsAssist in demolishing old roofing system using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materialsRemove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment as well as keep site cleanHelp to apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground levelTend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as asphalt mixer, compressors and pumps as well as others as requiredAssist with the install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools as directed by the trades person being helped Clean up asphalt spills and other hazardous materialsOil and grease hoists and similar equipmentDirect traffic at or near construction sitesPerform other activities at construction sites, as directed.RequirementsJob Requirements:Two or more years of experience as a Roofer or Roofer helper Solid understanding of Cladding installation is an assetEmployee works independently on general assignmentsWork safely and follow safety proceduresMathematical background is an assetReading and interpreting blueprintsAble to operate equipment and machinery and different toolsAble to work in all weather conditionsAble to lift at least 40-50 poundsAble to stand, kneel and bend for long hoursShould be physically fitAble to be flexible and adaptable to site and working conditionsGood Team playerAdheres to safety protocolsAbility to understand directions as per supervisorBenefitsExtended medical and Dental after 3 months.
