Job DescriptionAre you passionate about creating a positive experience through food We are seeking an enthusiastic Food Service Worker to join our dynamic team at the NSCC Sydney campus!You #39;ll play a vital role in fueling the minds and bodies of our vibrant university community, from energizing students for their studies to providing delicious meals for faculty and staff.   • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Light cash handling duties including but not limited to: processing guest transactions, balancing cash floats, participating in cashiers audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
Qualifications
  • 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service, or Prep Cook experience
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).This is a full-time, seasonal role.
