Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Operations Manager will uphold the core values of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This position will have a passion for safety and leading teams. The Operations Manager will support our initiatives that protect employees, customers, and assets allowing all our team members to return home safely every day. This role is instrumental in achieving success through hard work, integrity, and developing yourself and others.

  • Direct leadership/supervision for 50+ Protectors (field-based crews)
  • Support the Area Manager and General Manager in managing and executing company initiatives
  • Collaborate daily with all Area Staff, with a goal of Continuous Improvement in all functional areas of the business
  • Maintain Field and Office Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention standards are met
  • Protect the company’s team members, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through enforcement of safe work practices
  • Coach, Motivate, Develop assigned team of protectors
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities
  • Perform job site and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients, and work in the field with the team as needed
  • Address customer service issues promptly and efficiently while providing the highest level of customer service
  • Prepare daily schedules
  • Monitor daily employee issues including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training requirements
  • Facilitate teambuilding efforts and regular communications with team members
  • Engage and support the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency and reduce labor costs
  • Obtain provincial-specific certifications
  • Become a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging
  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of company assets
  • Planning traffic control staffing requirements, deploying company resources, resolving issues, planning, monitoring and evaluating customer requirements and coordinating service
  • Meets traffic control demands by hiring, orientating and managing traffic control personnel, verifying work in progress, resolving problems, and reporting progress
  • Achieves customer satisfaction by negotiating service requirements and rates, anticipating and planning service requirements
  • Drafting traffic control plans, determining site material and equipment requirements, creating quotes
  • Reviewing customer invoices, recording employee time, entering payroll data
  • Fulfills on site safety standards by completing pre-construction hazard assessments, site inspections, spot checks, certification requirements
  • Improves efficiency of current operational process, by evaluating current processes, recommending new methods/systems, policies and procedures, and implementing revisions
  • Completes operational requirements by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring existing assets, and identifying new required resources, implementing toolbox talks and productivity standards, resolving problems, implementing and enforcing new procedures
  • Completing administrative requirements by organizing and maintaining office files, completing reports
  • Seeks continual efficiencies within the operation
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing all other tasks as required
  • Other duties as assigned
