Job Description

This position is responsible for performing basic manual labour. This position will be responsible for performing light-duty work in favourable conditions. Requires understanding of assigned tasks. Will be working in the shipping department as well as other departments performing general labourer duties when shipping duties are completed.Duties:

  • Assists with unloading as necessary
  • Unpacks shipments, verifies the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents according to established procedures
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Make necessary verification against documents while preparing and pulling stock or shipping to different locations
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Participates in taking and stocking inventory. Maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves.
  • Operate Lift Truck to move shipments
  • Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments
  • Lifting, handling and preparing light weight materials
  • Thoroughly reviews kit assembly instructions or forms to familiarize with the particular system to be assembled including the following:
  • Verifies proper unit before start of work, if unsure, contacts supervisor immediately
  • Checks that proper materials are available and of sufficient quantity and informs supervisor immediately if any materials are not available, verify the quality of material(s) to be used and informs supervisor of any defective material (never assumes the quality has been checked)
  • Ensures instructions and information are thoroughly understood, informs supervisor immediately if not
  • Ensures the proper tools and equipment are available and in good working condition to begin and complete the job
  • Assemble kit according to installation procedures and instructions, properly and efficiently
  • Quality Control steps and Final Inspection including taking a picture of complete kit
  • Any other general duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
  • Previous forklift experience a must
  • Able to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Able to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches etc.
  • High level of organizational skills & abilities
  • Independent & self motivated
