These are the cornerstones of our longevity.We are currently offering a $1000.00 hiring bonus to the successful candidate(s)!In developing competitive products for the global market, we are currently seeking a:BUYERThe preferred candidate will have: · A strong commitment to working safely and the willingness to actively participate in our health and safety programs,· A post - secondary education in a related business discipline,· A relevant designation such as the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent is preferred,· 2 – 4 years’ experience purchasing in an OEM manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy equipment, is an asset.· Experience working with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment is desirable.The position responsibilities include: · Source vendors for new parts and potential cost savings.· Review vendor quotes and negotiate purchase price,· Work with vendors to update delivery schedules,· Issue purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding order status.· Expedite past due purchase orders,· Prepare purchased items back-order report to assist Production Leaders and Supervisors,· Work with CSRs to communicate product availability to our customers,· Coordinate delivery priorities and shipping arrangements with warehouse personnel,· Enter transfer orders required to facilitate movement of goods between sites,· Manage return of items to vendors,· Coordinate non-conformance and warranty Issues related to purchased items for the product line.· Review and assess safety stock requirements of components and finished goods for review by the Supply Chain Manager.BTI offers an excellent work environment that promotes teamwork and a positive work / life balance.
