Position Overview:To assist with repair and preventative maintenance on Water Treatment and Water Distribution facilities as required by Town policies and in accordance with Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Regulations and Municipal Drinking Water License and Permit. All work shall be performed under the direction of a licensed operator.Hydrant Maintenance - flushing, painting, mapping, removing and replacing signs.Chamber Maintenance - locating, mapping and cleaning.General Maintenance - cleaning up excavation sites, grass cutting, weed eating around hydrants etc. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Minimum one year work experience in a team environmentPreference will be given to post-secondary students enrolled in an Environmental Technician or Technology course.Currently enrolled in a secondary or postsecondary institutionAptitude in machinery and vehicle operation and maintenanceAbility to foster good working and interpersonal communicationsRequired to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects up to 50 pounds without assistanceRequired to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shiftRequired to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pullingRequired to move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfacesValid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certificate preferred Information for Interested Candidates:A detailed job description and instructions on how to apply are available on the Town’s website, under Town Hall - Employment Opportunities.The submission deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on Monday February 21, 2022.Salary Range: $15.75/hours to $19.14/hour (2022 Rate).New employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of a valid exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code as a condition of being hired by the Town of The Blue Mountains .Full Time – 1 Position AvailableIn accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) please advise the Human Resources Department to ensure your accessibility needs are accommodated throughout this process.
