Bylaw SupervisorDepartment Protective ServicesClosing Date Wednesday, February 2, 2022Position:The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Bylaw Supervisor.Reporting to the Manager of Protective Services, the Bylaw Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Bylaw Enforcement Officers, Business License Inspector and overseeing the enforcement of the District’s regulatory bylaws, approving and issuing licenses and permits, and liaising with various government agencies. Work involves providing information and assistance to the public, carrying out patrols and investigations, gathering evidence, conducting inspections, and preparing all documentation necessary for the effective enforcement of District regulatory bylaws. The Supervisor of Bylaw Enforcement and Business Licensing will also carry out routine office duties to maintain departmental files and records, scheduling and training.A detailed job description outlining the duties and qualifications is available on the District’s website at www.tofino.ca.Hours of WorkThis is a permanent, full-time position based on 40 hours per week. The hourly wage is $34.50.This position is subject to a probationary period during which time the wage will be $31.05.
