The Front Office team is a key component of the Wickaninnish experience and, while efficient time management and organization is a must, they do so much more than administrative duties. Our Front Office team is dynamic and its members need to have strong communication skills and a desire to exceed guest expectations.The Wickaninnish Inn is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Concierge. The position of Concierge will be an hourly entry-level position reporting to the Chef Concierge.Objectives:Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4 & 5 Diamond StandardsBe true to Our Promise, meet and exceed the service philosophies and standards of the InnResponsible for day-to-day guest requests regarding travel arrangements to and from Tofino, recreation trips, recommendations of local activities/dining options, and the like.Booking of Recreation tripsTransportation arrangementsAssist with special occasion bookings (Wedding proposals etc.)Local recommendationsEmail and written correspondenceClerical duties such as maintenance of reservation files and day to day operational paperwork are requiredThis position will also be expected to assist on the Guest Reception desk in a limited capacity as a Guest Service Representative whenever necessarySome duties of this position may change due to COVID-19 operating regulations/standardsDescription du profilRequirements:Face-To-Face customer service experience in a guest oriented role.Exemplary customer service skills and a demonstrated willingness to exceed guest expectations are the minimum expectations for all Wickaninnish employeesHotel or Resort experience an asset.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalFamiliarity with services and activities offered in Tofino, Ucluelet and Vancouver IslandValid Class 5 Drivers LicenseAbility to transfer luggage from vehicle trunks to bell carts, ranging up to 40lbsA professional and groomed appearance, calm and capable demeanourAttention to detail and ability to multitaskKnowledgeable about, and capable to meet and exceed, Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4 Diamond standardsSubstantial prior experience in a Guest Service role necessaryWorking knowledge of Maestro, Word and Excel an assetMust be willing to work evenings and weekendsA desire to contribute exciting and innovative ideas towards the ongoing improvement of the Front Office Department and the Wickaninnish Inn as a wholeAbility to make a commitment of 18 months to the positionMust be legally authorized to work in CanadaAs of September 13, 2021, as a term of employment, all employees must have one dose of a Canadian approved COVID-19 vaccine, and as of October 1, 2021 be fully vaccinated.
