Family Cultural Worker –Community Services Department: Reporting to Community Services ManagerPosition Summary:The Family Cultural Worker will work closely with the Family Care Worker to provideimmediate and ongoing cultural support to families, children and youth; including co-facilitating individual, family and group sessions. This will include leading and assistingin traditional ceremonies for Tla-o-qui-aht members and staff and supporting familysafe-home. The position provides a critical role in continued commitment to ensure Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation perspectives, knowledge, and approaches to wellness and familystrengthening are honoured in our Tiic-Mis-Aq’kin Health Center Setting.Key Duties:The Family Cultural Worker will be responsible for working with other staff to implementthe Cultural Prevention Program. This program will build Tla-o-qui-aht’s capacity togrow healthy families. This project will develop a culturally based family and youthinitiative that will focus on building the strength and skills of families, at the same time,as growing the healthy parents of tomorrow through youth initiatives lead by projectstaff and local leaders.
