Tofino is one of the most popular travel destinations in Western Canada and was just named one of the top 50 places to visit in the world by Time Magazine.TRM features 63 guest rooms, a 58-slip marina, one waterfront restaurants, an elite fitness centre and an adventure centre offering fantastic outdoor activities year-round, including whale and bear watching, a hot spring tour, freediving, paddle boarding, fishing and a remote floating sauna which was specifically mentioned just recently in Time magazine. Guests can bring back their foraged product, land and sea to be prepared by the 1909 Kitchen + Bar team. In addition, guests can fly directly into TRM’s marina via Harbour Air (which recently announced direct flights from Victoria to Tofino and additional flights from Vancouver). Surrounded by world-renowned natural beauty, TRM offers a rare mix of adventure and relaxation, providing guests with both thrilling and reflective moments on land and on water.TRM is well positioned with a unique location in Tofino that includes direct access to waterways, diverse service offerings, development opportunities on adjacent properties all of which are served by committed ownership and passionate staff. To fully capitalize on its potential as it continues to grow and evolve, the owners are now seeking a President & General Manager (GM) to drive the property’s strategic and operational growth.The President & GM will be tasked with a highly entrepreneurial mandate to build TRM into a year-round destination resort in Tofino with world-class guest experience, standards, and operations. Responsibilities include developing a long-term vision and strategy for the business, driving operational excellence and guest services to upgrade the hotel from a 3-star to 4-star experience, expanding and executing on broader sales and marketing activities, overseeing capital project planning for future development, and promoting talent attraction and retention, and greater collaboration across the organization.The ideal candidate will be an experienced business leader and hospitality executive with broad leadership and management experience from a similar hospitality operation. A creative flair for creating exceptional outdoor and hospitality experiences will be important. The successful candidate will have experience in strategic planning, capital projects, guest experience and a track record of developing culture and collaboration across teams and departments. The candidate will possess strong financial and business acumen and the ability to work with a team of committed owners who are keen to invest strategically in the business. Importantly, the candidate must truly embody the spirit and culture of Tofino, one that respects the community and environment that underlies TRM’s competitive advantage.Based in Tofino, BC, this is an exciting opportunity to take on an exciting challenge to work with ambitious and committed owners who are looking to build on and transform a unique hospitality operation into one of Canada’s finest tourism experiences in a globally recognized location.Work History

• 5 years of combined experience in an AGM or GM role at a resort
• Degree in Business Management or master’s in business administration
• Experience in destination tourism
• Experience managing a multi brand resort.
• History of success
