Job Description

Job DescriptionThe BIM Modeler for Utility and Drainage will create detailed 2D and 3D models using mainly Civil 3D and Autodesk Inventor for storm drainage improvements, dry and wet utility networks and corridors along with setting up and customizing object, label, pipe network styles and configure part lists. This work is essential for the pavement restoration projects and facility upgrades.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive 3D models, profile and cross-sections for underground dry and wet utilities, including storm drainage systems, sanitary sewers, water distribution and culverts, tanks and catch basins, using Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with the Civil and Utility Lead and engineers to accurately model existing, stage phasing and proposed site servicing, grading, and drainage designs.
  • Ensure models adhere to municipal infrastructure standards, provincial codes and project-specific requirements.
  • Produce detailed plans, profiles, and sections for construction and regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct clash detection to coordinate utility and drainage systems with other infrastructure disciplines, such as civil-grade separation, foundations and electrical duct banks.
  • Maintain model integrity, accurate and up-to-date models reflecting the phased construction and turnover of geometrical and non-geometrical asset data.
  • Ensure accurate representation of as-built conditions upon project completion.
