Job DescriptionWhat is the OpportunityExcited about cloud technologies Looking to make a difference helping one of the biggest enterprises in Canada build a hybrid cloud We need your help!In this role you will have the opportunity to manage the delivery of cutting-edge cloud deployment platforms and gain highly coveted experience in migrating the enterprise to the hybrid cloud. You will interact with a team of passionate cloud engineers and product managers who thrive on solving challenging technical problems and creating great products that delight customers.If this is the type of challenge that you #39;re passionate about, then we would like to talk to you!As a Cloud Delivery Lead at RBC, you will manage the timelines and delivery of the enterprise platforms in AWS and Azure, leveraging your technical skills sets to support cloud deployments and hybrid architectures. You will assist customers by building reference implementation using Infrastructure as Code and best in class software engineering practices. Additionally, you will ensure the timely delivery of features by working closely with engineers and striving for a user-centric blameless culture.What will you do

  • Drive the delivery and prioritization of the enterprise platform to enable new functionality and lower time to market for modern applications at the bank
  • Monitor cloud cost spent to help drive decision and adoption of hybrid cloud
  • Work alongside engineers to help deliver enterprise platforms solutions on AWS and Azure for the greater bank to support modern development techniques and architectures
  • Closely engage with internal clients to gain a solid understanding of their technical and business domains
  • Work closely with our Product team to develop roadmaps and backlogs
  • Leverage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes to build multi-cloud, multitenant platforms
  • Deliver capabilities using practices such as Infrastructure as Code (mostly Terraform) and GitOps
  • Learn from a great team of fellow engineers in building real-world cloud scale solutions across public and private clouds
  • Work closely with a team of like-minded platform engineers to build the cloud platforms as part of RBC’s hybrid cloud strategy
  • Ensures the performance of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure to meet the requirements of complicated solutions.
  • Promote automation and infrastructure best practices
  • Create awesome educational material for customers, like sample cloud native apps and starter code
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDMust-have
  • 5+ years’ experience with software development preferably with Python, Go or Node
  • Solid AWS and Azure experience in a high-performance and business-critical environment
  • Experience with Terraform to support the development of Terraform modules on AWS and Azure
  • A passion for making developers more efficient through DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Extraordinarily skilled in both written and spoken communication
  • You integrate and collaborate seamlessly with product managers, engineers and data scientists on identifying opportunities, shaping priorities and driving results
  • You can find a meaningful balance between optimizing for speed, quality, and doing high value impactful work
  • You have learned leadership skills that only time can teach: improving organizational health, growing and hiring new leaders, and picking your battles

  • Ansible, Artifactory, GitHub
  • Working in a Scaled Agile Framework, Kanban, or Scrum development methodology
  • Proficiency in cloud-based financial systems (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong analytical skills with tools like Excel, Power BI and Tableau
