JVS Toronto also offers permanent employees a generous vacation package, a pension plan in addition to paid sick time, family care and wellness days.Program OverviewAs an outstanding provider of services for achieving success at school and at work, JVS Toronto helps thousands of people from all walks of life to achieve their educational, economic and personal potential.Within newcomer services, the ISTEM program is designed to facilitate newcomer integration into the Canadian workplace and society at the initial stages of their job search in Canada. It includes information, orientation and counselling as well as sector-specific language/workplace communication training for internationally educated professionals. We’re looking for someone who will: •Assess client needs and develop action plans with appropriate interventions to help clients achieve employment goals •Provide case management and job search support to clients, including information and referral services•Provide effective professional services to support client needs in producing high quality resumes, cover letter and LinkedIn profiles in a timely manner•Facilitate job search related workshops based on the existing curriculum and deliver information sessions and labour market orientation, both online and in-person •Deliver itinerant services at community partner locations and adjust workshop curriculum as needed•Support outreach activities •Develop and maintain effective relationships with local community partners •Collect all client and program information (including follow up records) required for funder and internal reports•Keep meticulous records and conduct timely data entry•Liaise with other JVS programs and services partners in the community to ensure wrap-around supports for clients Minimum Qualificationsamp; Experience:•Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience, or a related degree with 3-5 years of counselling experience. International degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency.•Demonstrated problem-solving skills•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Sensitivity to diversity; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively deal with many personality types•Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency (ie.
