Together, we will build a future with a majestic and lasting legacy. *** This position is for the Don Valley Crossings Metrolinx project located in East York. Candidates must be willing and able to report to the construction site to be considered for this opportunity.ResponsibilitiesThe Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Machineryamp; Equipment and is responsible for the equipment needs of the Don Valley Crossing bridge site. This includes :

  • Taking care of external rentals of heavy equipment and small tools from suppliers, their rates and complete invoicing;
  • Plan and coordinate the movement of equipment on site;
  • Meet site requirements for equipment either by purchase, rental or internal transfer;
  • Optimize equipment utilization and ensure profitability;
  • Monitor equipment usage reports and optimize with the site;
  • Update on a weekly basis the “Location of equipment and required equipment”;
  • Participate in start-of-shift and planning meetings;
  • Develop annual equipment budgets for the contract;
  • Monitor equipment numbering and equipment immobilization sheets, if required;
  • Negotiate rental agreements for light trucks and small tools, if required;
  • Perform comparative technical analyses of equipment for decision-making purposes;
  • Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities on equipment belonging to the joint venture;
  • Purchase requisitions for parts and materials required for maintenance and repair of JV-owned equipment;
  • Maintain up-to-date information on preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs performed on JV-owned equipment.
RequirementsRequirements
  • Experience with heavy construction equipment;
  • Must be fluent both written and spoken English (French an asset);
  • Must be available for a 5-day civil engineering work schedule on the Don Valley Crossing bridge project.
