Full job descriptionLeading law firm with offices located that has been serving the Fraser Valley for more than the 25 years. We provide legal services to clients in areas of Family Law, Real Estate, Property Development, Corporate Commercial, Business Law, Willsamp; Estates, and Immigration. We value a firm culture that fosters collegiality and respect for everyone on the team while rewarding individual responsibility, initiative, and creativity.We are seeking a family lawyer with 3 to 5 years of experience in BC matrimonial work to join our growing family law group in our Ladner office. We are looking for a lawyer to assume conduct of family law files in primarily a settlement focused manner with strong negotiation/organizational skills. Senior family lawyers available for mentoring.Our Family Law lawyers are compensated based upon their collected fees each month such that each Associate controls how much they choose to earn with the firm’s robust marketing providing the ability for each associate to collect significant hours each month, without difficulty. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic lawyer who desires to become a part of the community that they serve. They will thrive on challenging work, be self‐motivated with sound judgement, display a sound work ethic, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be one who is excited to grow their practice.This position is also suitable for a family lawyer with an existing practice who would like to join a dynamic and growing firm.Responsibilities
  • The ideal individual will be adept at independently managing cases and will possess comprehensive knowledge of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division. They should also be skilled in conducting hearings, discoveries, and trials. Experience in instructing support staff, taking client instructions, drafting pleadings, presenting chamber applications, negotiating mediations, appearing at trials, and managing all aspects of a case from start to finish is essential.
  • Although a lawyer with litigation experience is preferred, our firm also offers an environment with a focus on ADR skills in the fields of mediation and collaborative law.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Family Law (preferred)
  • Ability to manage and maintain an organized caseload from start to finish
  • Willingness to work well with others and within a team
  • Strong written, verbal and advocacy skills
  • Dedicated commitment to top-tier client service
Compensation
  • $120,000 to $200,000
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $120,000.00-$200,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
