Job Description

A leading organization in the real estate investment sector is hiring a Senior Real Estate Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers the chance to work closely with asset and property management teams, contribute to the financial success of a diverse portfolio, and gain visibility with senior leadership. It #39;s a strong fit for professionals with hands-on experience in real estate accounting, lease analysis, and financial reporting.About the RoleReporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets. You’ll play a critical role in analyzing operating costs, overseeing tenant billing, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting that supports both internal and external stakeholders.What You’ll Do

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for a portfolio of income-producing properties
  • Analyze and record lease-related transactions, ensuring compliance with agreements and proper accounting treatment
  • Prepare and reconcile tenant billings, including operating expense recoveries and realty taxes
  • Liaise with property managers and asset management teams to review variances and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecasts by providing financial insights and property-level analysis
  • Support internal controls, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial analysis and reporting
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Progressive experience in real estate or property accounting, ideally in a multi-property environment
  • Strong understanding of lease agreements, recoveries, and rent roll analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in general ledger accounting and financial reporting practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach
  • CPA designation is preferred but not required
