Youll be responsible for driving development, maintaining software quality, and ensuring the platform continues to evolve to meet the growing needs of Canadians.Youll report to the Senior Engineering Manager and work closely with product, design, analytics, and stakeholders to ship meaningful features-not just code. From personalized care journeys to digital pharmacy and wellness tools, your team will play a critical role in delivering high-impact, user-centered healthcare solutions.This is a chance to lead complex technical work with real-world impact-where every release supports better health outcomes for millions.What Youll Do:

  • Define the long-term technical and product vision for your team, aligning with company and healthcare strategy.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing, inclusive engineering team with a strong culture of ownership and impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, data, and clinical teams to build and launch meaningful healthcare features.
  • Drive the architecture and backend/frontend development of scalable applications-used by patients, pharmacists, and care providers nationwide.
  • Champion engineering excellence by promoting best practices, code quality, and operational maturity.
  • Be hands-on in the development lifecycle: review code, give technical feedback, and support solution design where needed.
  • Mentor and coach engineers-providing regular feedback, career development support, and technical guidance.
  • Hold effective 1:1s to drive clarity, engagement, and team alignment.
  • Foster a culture of documentation, continuous improvement, and technical learning across the team.
Does This Sound Like You
  • Experienced Software Development Manager with a background in leading Frontend Development teamss.
  • You have a strong technical foundation with 10+ years of hands-on software development experience-specializing in frontend systems while maintaining a solid understanding of backend architecture.
  • You will not be coding, but you stay close enough to the work to guide architectural decisions, unblock technical challenges, and set high engineering standards.
  • Youve been operating as an Engineering Manager for at least a year and know how to lead, grow, and empower a high-performing team.
  • Youve led frontend-focused teams delivering complex, performant, and accessible user experiences-while collaborating closely with backend, platform, and infrastructure counterparts to build cohesive, scalable systems.
  • Youve built and scaled large, consumer-facing applications in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments-ideally with healthcare, retail, or other high-impact domains.
  • You know what great software looks like. You care about quality, performance, security, and maintainability-and you hold the bar high while staying open to different approaches.
  • You #39;re confident in project planning and estimation, able to break down ambiguous problems and navigate delivery risk while keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • You lead with data. You make informed decisions, track progress, and use metrics to assess both product performance and team health.
  • Youre a strong communicator who knows how to bridge the gap between technical teams, business partners, and non-technical stakeholders-driving clarity across the board.
  • You #39;re energized by coaching, mentoring, and fostering a strong team culture. You create space for growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • You #39;re hands-on with modern web development stacks. You bring deep experience with frameworks like React and Next.js, and familiarity with backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • You understand the critical role of security, privacy, and compliance in healthcare-and know how to build user-facing features that meet these requirements without compromising experience.
  • Youve worked with event-driven systems, reactive architectures, and both SQL and NoSQL data models-and you know when to use what.
