Job Description

Position Description:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Tester to support the eGL Oracle Project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mainframe testing within Agile environments, with hands-on experience in JCL, COBOL, and backend systems. This role involves both functional and technical testing of complex financial applications, with a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement.This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client office (Downtown, Toronto) at a minimum 4 days per week - subject to change at any time.Your future duties and responsibilities:• Conduct end-to-end testing of Mainframe and PeopleSoft systems.• Execute and validate batch jobs using JCL and COBOL.• Analyze job logs, identify errors, and perform root cause analysis.• Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation (Oracle and DB2).• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system changes and impacted components.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers.• Utilize test management tools such as JIRA and qTest for tracking and reporting.• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.• Ensure testing aligns with business and regulatory requirements in the banking/finance domain.Required qualifications to be successful in this role:Must-Have:• 7+ years of Quality Engineering/Testing experience, with at least 3 years in Mainframe application testing.• Strong hands-on experience with JCL, COBOL, TSO, ISPF, and batch job execution.• Proficiency in SQL (select, joins, aggregate functions) and experience with Oracle and DB2 databases.• Experience in Agile methodology and test management tools (JIRA, qTest).• Ability to write comprehensive test plans and test cases.• Background in the Banking/Finance domain.Nice-to-Have:• Understanding of Python code and ability to validate it.• Knowledge of Financial Business Rule Management Systems.• Experience with test automation tools such as REXX, Robot Framework, Selenium, or LoadRunner.• Familiarity with PeopleSoft tools and HELIOS.• Experience with Jenkins, Git, and QTest.• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux commands and tools like PuTTY.Skills:
