We are your neighbours and we make sustainable investments in the communities we share.What you’ll do:The Bakery/Deli Manager is responsible for establishing short-and-long-term strategies, goals, and objectives for the Bakery/Deli department at our food store, in alignment with Turtleford Co-op’s corporate strategic plans. Working collaboratively with the Management team, you will:

• Oversee the daily management of the department, ensuring adherence by management and staff to merchandising standards, marketing efforts, staff appearance, housekeeping and loss prevention, according to company expectations.
• Prepare, administer and be responsible for the sales, margin, expenses, inventory and SPEH of the Bakery/Deli department.
• Ensure acceptable level of service is provided to all internal and external customers, staff attitude is appropriate and Hassle-Free Guarantee Program is followed and that it aligns and strengthens the Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and brand.
• Provide demonstrated, professional leadership and direction to the store team to create an ongoing, positive, highly motivated workforce within the team.
• To ensure proper management of assets and adherence to a maintenance schedule.
• Work closely with the Food Manager and engage their expertise whenever possible and provide ongoing feedback regarding recommendations and plans for continued improvement of department operations.
• Ensure claims, invoices and all other administrative duties is done timely, accurately and meets policy and procedure.
• Schedule staff according to sales needs.
• In co-ordination with the Food Manager, assist with employee relations matters including hiring, training and development, performance management, recognition, discipline and terminations.
• Provide demonstrated leadership and participate in all Health and Safety requirements, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about the compliance with OH&S policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Ensure confidentiality regarding pricing, financial and marketing strategies, and Human Resources information.

• You have at least two years’ experience in retail management at supervisory role level, with supervisory and bakery/Deli experience.
• You have strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• You have a passion for sales.
• Must successfully complete provincially required training/certification relating to the responsible service and/or sale of products (ex. Food Safety, TEAMS, etc.).
• You must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and must also be available for calls after hours and emergencies.
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
