IBM is modernizing Db2 to be cloud-native and Db2 is the key database engine to empower IBM watsonx.data and Cloudpak for Data. Db2 can be directly deployed on AWS and other popular cloud providers. Db2 Operator has tight integration with Redhat OpenShift and native Kubernetes. Db2 engine is written in C/C++ with multiple operating systems support. It powers low-latency transactions and real-time analytics at scale.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesYou #39;ll help provide a single engine for DBAs, enterprise architects and developers to keep critical applications running, store and query anything, and power faster decision-making and innovation.You #39;ll work in an Agile, collaborative and fast-paced environment building on decades of innovation in data security, scalability and availability, and keeping critical applications and analytics protected, highly performant and resilient, anywhere.You will:

  • Implement and test security features and enhancements in our software products using primarily C/C++.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into our software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in design of robust, scalable solutions for a complex product, as well as requirements gathering, testing and sprint planning to support the overall achievement of business objectives.
  • Research and stay updated on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices to continually improve our products #39; security posture.
  • Participate in code reviews, conduct in-depth analysis and identify security flaws, and provide solutions adhering to industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to security protocols, implementation details, and best practices.
Who You Are:

  • You have very demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are great at solving problems; debugging; and designingamp; implementing solutions to complex technical problems.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages with demonstrable experience in software development, preferably in a security-focused role.
  • Solid understanding of security principles, cryptographic algorithms, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in software applications.
  • Demonstrated communication skills to convey complex security concepts effectively.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Understanding and experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and Secure Software Development Best Practices.
  • Understanding and experience with Back End or Full Stack Development.
  • Understanding and experience with relational databases like Db2.
  • Familiarity with low-level system programming.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux/Unix and Windows.
  • Good understanding of other programming and scripting languages such as shell scripting, Perl, Java, Python, and REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile.
