Job Description

What we are looking for: We are looking for sonographers who enjoy working independently as well as with a dynamic team of professionals. The successful candidate will work with Philips IU22 Ultrasound machines. You will bring with you experience in general imaging, obstetrical, vascular, pediatric, small parts and MSK ultrasound. The onsite Radiologists is available for support through discussions, feedback and continuing education.This position will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations at our Uxbridge site in the following areas: general abdomen/pelvis, intracavitary, small parts, routine/high risk obstetrics, vascular (venous and arterial studies) and musculoskeletal and pediatrics.Compensation:UOPS09: Ranges from $33.00-45.56 per hour.Work Schedule:The successful candidate must be available to cover day & evening shifts. Shifts are 7.5 hours. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.What you bring to Oak Valley Health:
  • Graduate from an accredited Canadian ultrasound program strongly preferred. Other equivalent education will be considered
  • Must be a current member and in good standing with CMRITO
  • Sonography Canada credentialed is preferred (must have PLI- professional liability insurance)
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing education to expand current skill set and affiliations to recognized ultrasound associations
  • Affiliation with professional societies is an assets
  • ARDMS an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred coupled with teaching hospital experience.
  • CRVS and/or RVT designations are an asset as are any additional designations, ARDSM (BR), (PS), (RMSKS), NT certification is an asset
  • Proficient computer skill, Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
