Position: Assistant Plant ManagerLocation: Vancouver, BC, CanadaDuration: Full-TimeSalary: DOEPOSITION OVERVIEWAs an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our seafood processing facility. Working alongside the Plant Manager and production teams, you will help uphold high-quality standards, streamline workflows, and lead production staff to achieve operational goals. This hands-on leadership position requires demonstrated seafood processing experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Assist the Plant Manager and collaborate with the Production Manager to oversee daily production operations, ensuring efficiency and quality assurance.· Develop and coordinate production schedules, managing material availability and labor needs.· Maximize the use of plant equipment and workforce to enhance output and control costs.· Gather, track, and evaluate production data to drive operational improvements.· Uphold high-quality standards while innovating and implementing new processing methods.· Support logistics for incoming and outgoing products to ensure smooth workflow.· Mentor, train, and collaborate with production staff to foster a skilled and motivated team.· Enforce all safety regulations and promote best practices to maintain a safe working environment.· Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly to minimize production downtime.· Operate forklifts as needed in both production and cold storage areas.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS· Prior experience in the seafood processing industry is required.· Strong leadership capabilities with excellent problem-solving skills to inspire and guide teams.· Keen attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving environment.· Solid organizational and time management skills.· Experience in plant operations and production scheduling.· Knowledge of seafood safety standards and processing best practices.· Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-speed environment.· Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.· Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in Chinese, Japanese, or Vietnamese is a plus.· A proactive, team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach.Benefits:· Dental care· Extended health care· On-site parking· Paid time off· Profit sharing
