Job Description

Start Date: August 2025Disability Case Manager — RemoteWe are hiring multiple experienced disability case managers for a leading insurance client. This fully remote, 6-month contract starts in August 2025 and offers $40–$45 per hour, flexible daytime hours, and strong potential for permanency. Ideal for professionals with STD and LTD claims experience across MST or PST time zones.What is in it for you:• Hourly salary of $40 to $45, based on experience.• Full-time contract: 6 months with strong potential for permanency.• 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.• Flexible schedule between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (MST or PST).• Remote work, with the option to work in-office one day per week if preferred.Responsibilities:• Assess and manage disability claims (short-term, long-term, and salary continuance) with a focus on timely and fair resolution.• Lead recovery planning by identifying medical and non-medical factors, functional capabilities, and return-to-work readiness.• Apply crisis intervention and rehabilitation techniques to support clients through challenging health transitions.• Use data and analytics to inform decisions and identify trends in recovery and return-to-work outcomes.• Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, employers, and healthcare providers.• Communicate with empathy and clarity, guiding clients through their absence and return-to-work journey.• Manage a caseload of approximately 80–90 claims with strong organization and efficiency.• Coordinate with healthcare practitioners, employers, and plan sponsors to monitor claim status and ensure continuity of care.• Propose creative solutions to overcome treatment barriers, such as expedited access to diagnostics or therapy.What you will need to succeed:• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Kinesiology, or Business.• 2+ years of direct experience in disability case management (STD and LTD).• Frontline healthcare experience (e.g., nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, mental health support), considered a strong asset.• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• High emotional intelligence and resilience in emotionally complex situations.• Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention, case management, and rehabilitation techniques.• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.• Comfortable using digital tools and navigating multiple platforms.• A collaborative, team-first mindset.• Comfortable working in Pacific or Mountain Standard Time zones.Why Recruit ActionRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2504511) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach to job seekers and businesses.
