Job Description

Role: QA Automation + Lead Manual EngineerDuration: 2 MONTHSRemote CanadaClient Domain Product based company - HRMS (Human Resource Management System) applications focused on SaaS-based HRMS applications that assist public sector organizationsAbout the Role:We are seeking a Senior Manual QA Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing and SQL, and who has worked in complex, large-scale enterprise environments. While manual testing will be your primary focus, experience or familiarity with Selenium and Java for automation is highly desirable. You will help ensure product quality through detailed testing and collaboration across development and product teams.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for web and enterprise-grade applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to ensure end-to-end quality.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data and support test cases.
  • Experience testing enterprise systems with complex integrations, high data volumes, and multi-team coordination
  • Proven expertise in SQL, including writing joins, subqueries, aggregations, and performance-tuned queries
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA, ensuring issues are resolved.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA peers, and product managers to clarify requirements and build test strategies.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Contribute to or maintain automated tests using Selenium with Java, when appropriate.
  • Provide mentoring or guidance to junior QA team members.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in manual QA testing in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries.
  • Exposure to enterprise domains such as finance, healthcare, insurance, or large-scale B2B platforms
  • Work on enterprise-grade platforms used by thousands of users daily
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with Selenium and Java for test automation (hands-on experience is a plus).
  • Experience with QA tools like TestRail, Zephyr, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Self-driven and able to take ownership of testing deliverables in a fast-paced Agile setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining automated tests using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
  • Knowledge of REST API testing and tools like Postman.
  • Experience in domains such as finance, healthcare, or e-commerce.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
