The Town of View Royal is a growing residential community in the Greater Victoria area with a population of approximately 11,575. Ten minutes from downtown Victoria, View Royal’s central location also provides good highway access to the Western Communities and to the Saanich Peninsula, including BC Ferries and the Victoria International Airport.Building Inspector – Level 31 Regular Full-Time Position($52.86/hour)Under the general direction of the Director of Development Services, the Building Inspector – Level 3 is responsible for technical and skilled work in the regulation and inspection of buildings and in the enforcement of the BC Building Code, the BC Plumbing Code, and municipal bylaws. The Building Inspector – Level 3 examines all types of building plans from simple to complex in size and design, related to new construction, alterations, repairs, and additions and inspects or monitors work in progress to ensure that work is performed in accordance with applicable regulations, codes and standards.The ideal candidate for this position will be highly organized and motivated with a demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and materials and be familiar with provincial statutes and regulations as they apply to property issues. The candidate will also have excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.In addition, the following essential qualifications are required:
