Senior’s Health, Home Care, is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as Team Lead, covering the areas of Flagstaff County, Viking, and surrounding areas. As a member of the Senior’s Health Management Team, the Team Lead reports to the Care Manager and is responsible for planning, organizing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of their teams. This position includes recruitment, supervision, education and performance management of Health Care Aides in the Home Care environment. The Team Lead also provides nursing services within the scope of the LPN. Located in east central Alberta, the Counties of Flagstaff & Beaver offer beautiful big open spaces, farmer’s markets, small town rodeos, artisan beer brewing and summer festivals. The areas are rich with oil and gas, agriculture, sports and recreation activities. These communities, within reach of larger centers, truly are the picture of rural Alberta living as they continue to grow and thrive.Description:Supervising HCA’s; assisting in mentorship and problem solving in supporting a team environment. As a member of the multidisciplinary health care team the LPN works within their scope of practice, in an out of scope position, supervising the delivery of care by HCAs to meet the needs of the clients and residents.

Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a recognized Practical Nursing education program (diploma or certificate in Practical Nursing). Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Minimum of 5 years LPN experience. Knowledge of nursing practice and standards. Excellent organizational skills and time management. Demonstrated and effective communication and mentoring skills in a team setting. Ability to actively participate in a collaborative approach to meeting health goals. Drivers Abstract to be completed by AHS with no GDL restrictions and vehicle for travel is required.Additional Required Qualifications:Out of Scope position requires performance management and supervision of HCAs. Although the majority of the work is done in an office setting, the Team Lead is also responsible to enter clients homes to mentor and delegate procedures for Health Care Aides. This could increase the likelihood of ergonomic or physical exertion, so candidate must be physically able to meet the requirements of the position.Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 yrs. experience in Acute Care or Senior’s Health (Home Care and/or Long Term Care) preferred. Performance management, supervisory skills and experience an asset. Familiarity with computer applications; Internet, Microsoft Office, Meditech training an asset.Quick Apply
