Our mission is to build and operate person-directed communities by providing care and hospitality for seniors.The Opportunity:We are searching for a casual Hospitality Aides serving the Points West Living Wainwright community. The Hospitality Aide is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with an elevated level of focus in time management.Skills and key deliverables that will take you further:

  • You are a “Let’s get the job done!” friendly team player, motivated, and embody a willingness to help
  • Coordinate various business activities within the vision, objectives, and guiding philosophy of Connecting Care
  • A strong knowledge and personal commitment to Person Directed Care approaches
  • Familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being (an asset)
  • Strives to attain excellence in Resident, family member and employee care partner satisfaction
  • Demonstrates strength in building partnerships with Residents, family members, employee care partners, volunteers, external care partners and the community at large to ensure the vibrancy of our community
  • Displays patience and effective communication
  • Creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, relaxed, and relationship-driven, where everyone feels at home
  • Flexible, willingness to prioritize and re-adjust routines, open to change for the benefit of the community
  • Excellent time and resource management skills
  • Admirable problem solving and conflict resolution skills, deal effectively with difficult or crisis situations
  • Collaborates with their team to improve Community relations, increasing positive public regard and overall awareness
  • Always Maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality of the Community (including internal and external care partners)
  • Flexible to assist with daily life within the Community in a moment’s notice (such as serving meals, light housekeeping in service areas, assisting Residents, supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles)
  • Engaging in meaningful conversations with Residents and their loved ones (if applicable) to learn more about their life story and encourage them to become involved in activities at the Community
  • Understanding as well as participation in the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies
  • Audit and Identify any health, safety or maintenance issues, and reports/documents as required
  • Participates and facilitates ongoing educational programs
  • Maintain self-wellness and reduced absenteeism within the team
  • Preparing reports/checklists/schedules as required
  • Continually monitors, key measurable indicators of the daily operations
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
  • Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent (required)
  • Read, write, and speak fluently in English (required)
  • Food Safe Certificate (an asset)
  • Experience in hospitality, and/or food service, and/or recreation (an asset)
