Job descriptionWe are looking for a Real Estate Legal Assistant for our busy law practice in Wainwright, Alberta. You’ll be responsible for handling transactions related to residential, commercial and farmland properties, as well as commercial lending, refinances, and personal property registrations.Responsibilities: Receiving and reviewing conveyancing instructions from real estate agents and various financial institutions.Supporting transactions up to the closing date, including preparing and managing of all documents required for closings, flagging documents for signature, and preparation of letters.Drafting of agreements, contracts, and financing documents.Registration of documents with the Alberta Land Titles Office.Excellent written and oral communication with clients, banks, real estate agents and other law firms.Proofreading of documents and checking for appropriate formatting, spelling, grammar, and clarity.Following strict procedures related to file initiation, tracking and closure.Assisting colleagues with administrative tasks and reporting.Handling outgoing and incoming mail via Canada Post and private couriers.Scheduling appointments in Outlook Calendar and a desk top Day-Timer.Requirements: Prior experience as a real estate legal assistant in a professional office (preferred but not required).Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and conveyancing software.Desired candidate will have a strong ability to close transactions within a set deadline and have a high proficiency for accuracy.Capacity to identify, understand and meet expectations of internal and external clients in a timely manner.Maintain attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers.Strong initiative.Superior telephone skills and a professional disposition.Ability to work collaborative with others to achieve mutual goals.Salary: Based on ExperienceJob Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:
