The Wainwright Health Centre contains a 25-bed acute care medical/surgical unit, 2-bed obstetrical suite, and 24/7 Emergency Department, in addition to an OR, day surgery unit and cardiac wellness services.Description:As Rural Acute Care Manager with site responsibilities, you will be providing leadership to an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing leading care to Albertans. In this leadership position, you will be making key decisions and establishing and contributing to the achievements and goals of the facility, Surgical Program, Endoscopy, Cardiac Wellness as well as accountable for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, community engagement, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work as identified by the Director. You will be developing and maintaining an effective framework for patient services to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective and safe patient care. These activities may include providing day-to-day direction to the staff working on the unit, daily assignment of patients, staff scheduling, interdisciplinary rounds, identifying and attempting to resolve patient, family and staff concerns, and participating in patient flow, discussions and planning. In addition, you will be implementing and monitoring your portfolio’s budget while undertaking risk management, quality assurance and utilization activities. Your leadership, direction and organization of the units will be in support of the AHS vision, mission and business plan. This position requires the successful candidate to be on-site at the Wainwright Health Centre 530 6 Ave, Wainwright, AB T9W 1R6.
