Job Description

Position: HSE ManagerLocation: Hamilton, ONSalary: $100,000 - $105,000 YearlyIndustry: Construction/ Healthamp; SafetyEmployment Term: Full Time / Permanent Rolesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HSE related regulations
  • Managing relationships with all internal and external members
  • Being up to date with regulations and industry practices
  • Providing the necessary training and guidance to ensure the Health and Safety system is understood and followed by all members
  • Responsible for performing daily audits for identifying and controlling any hazards
  • Investigate all incidents and perform the necessary steps to avoid further occurrence in the future
  • Ensure all workplace injuries are reported within required timeframes
  • Complete incident reports as needed
  • Organize workshops, training seminars and presentations to educate employees on healthamp; safety issues and promoting a safe working environment
  • Travel and visit sites as required
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualificationsamp; Experience:
  • Post secondary education in occupational health and safety or equivalent
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in a HSE role preferably in a managerial position
  • Experience in Civil construction preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OH amp;S Acts and other applicable legislation
  • Expertise in investigation and auditing techniques (COR/ISO)
  • Experienced with WSIB reporting and IHSA COR requirements
  • NCSO certification is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • French would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Position requires traveling to multiple locations, valid driver’s license required
