  • Understand the mechanisms by which hormones control major physiological processes (i.e. reproduction, growth, development and metabolism).
  • Understand the hormone regulation of physiology in vertebrates
  • Understand the major endocrine axes, including positive and negative feedback effects of hormones
  • Understand the consequences of altered endocrine homeostasis
  • Become familiar with the idea of “endocrine disruption” and underlying mechanisms
  • Develop skills of critical review of primary scientific literature in the field of endocrinology
  • Develop skills in scientific writing & oral presentations through preparation of written assignments and seminars
