Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.The Digital Technical Consultant (DTC) role will support the content, tools and publishing processes of Global Marketing websites. It requires a dynamic, flexible, energetic and highly knowledgeable person to lead the digital initiatives of our clients. The Digital Publishing team is involved in initiatives and projects that have a website or digital component to them. The DTC will provide expertise and drive these initiatives forward, working closely with Information Technology and other key stakeholders. In addition, to being a project resource, the DTC will manage the day to day technical publishing and consulting and support the technical aspects of the Digital Publishing role.The role of the DTC will require someone who is detail-oriented and will help to shape broad conceptual change. They will bring a plan-full discipline to the team while being adaptable to a rapidly evolving environment.What will you do

  • Support the content, tools, and publishing processes of global marketing websites.
  • Lead digital initiatives
  • Provide expertise and drive initiatives forward, working closely with Information technology and other key stakeholders
  • Manage the technical publishing, consulting and support the technical aspects of the digital publishing.
  • Continuous improvement of delivery, demand, intake, and resource management
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with required quality
  • Manage competing priorities and lead cross-function teams
  • Demonstrates knowledge/expertise in the adobe experience manager (AEM) CMS
What do you need to succeed
  • Results oriented and well organized with a sense of urgency and an ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Web knowledge with proven experience in providing web solutions in digital, mobile and social practices
  • Project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to facilitate and build effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Technical knowledge of enterprise content management (ECM) systems
  • Understands the business of an IT delivery team
  • Knowledgeable of Agile methodologies and practice
  • Negotiating and decision making skills
  • Two or more years in a project management capacity managing interdependent, complex projects
  • In-depth knowledge of website principles, theories and practices as well as website standards style guides with a significance on web accessibility (WCAG/AODA)
  • Experience working in or with an IT functional support area and participating on an agile functional team
  • Ability to negotiate, consult, mediate, make decisions, solve problems, and persuade
  • Highly organized yet able to adapt quickly to rapidly evolving business needs
  • Problem solving skills and knowledge of troubleshooting methodology
  • Ability to multi-task and contribute to more than one project at a time in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to occasionally travel to another office location
What will be nice to have
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript, web accessibility, website design and responsive frameworks
  • Proficiency in outlook, dreamweaver, photoshop, multimedia presentations (video publishing solutions), video software etc. JAWS, Enterprise CMS
  • Strong analytical skills and testing skills
  • 3-5 years’ experience in web publishing, web development, or online marketing
  • Solid understanding of web design, usability, and accessibility best practices
  • Strong understanding of web analytics and SEO best practices
  • Understanding of marketing tags, conversion tracking, and remarketing activities
  • Knowledge of digital marketing practices and trends as they relate to web, mobile and social channels and a desire to keep abreast of latest industry trends
  • Past experience in the financial services or website publishing industries
  • Bilingualism (English/French) preferred

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
