Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.***Please note this is a 12-month contract role***About the role:Reporting to the Innovation Manager (Life and Health Innovation), the Innovation Consultant will contribute to initiatives that continuously launch and test new ideas, platforms, and solutions to generate innovation within Sun Life’s Retail Advice and Solutions. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for taking new ideas from ideation all the way to operationalization – working with our evolving network of partner start-ups as well as across the organization. This role requires strategic thinkers with a passion for solving business problems, effective communicators with a strong product ownership mindset, and team players that love to be part of fast-paced teams that can quickly foster relationships with peers in the organization.Please Note: This is a 12-month long contract role that includes salary and benefits.What will you do

• Developing new health and life insurance solutions for our Clients and Advisors – from ideation to the point where it can be handed off to the business
• Brainstorming and solving for Client and Advisor needs with supporting data and analytics
• Working with key internal teams and external stakeholders to help refine project objectives, work streams, owners, and milestones that can be taken through to execution
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute Client and Advisor research and data analytics to surface opportunities
• Working closely with business, functional leaders, and advisors to guide the future vision and roadmap of the platforms and solutions while developing & presenting recommendations to senior leadership

• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
• Effective work planning and strong analytical skills identifying critical business issues
• Strong ability to use data to drive decision-making
• Willingness to challenge conventional thinking supported by an effective problem-solving approach
• Superior interpersonal skills, leadership and influencing capabilities to effectively manage relationships across the organization
• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member
• Strong presentation and written communication skills with significant exposure to senior management
• Proficient with PP and Excel (experience with pivot tables and V-look ups)

Preferred skills:

• Experience in corporate strategy development or management consulting
• Experience with human centric design, design thinking and agile methodology
• Experience in life insurance/wealth management, or other financial services industry (e.g., retail banking, credit card, property and casualty insurance)
• Experience with Tableau is preferred

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
