Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.This role is within the Finance Function, supporting the Investment Solutions business unit, which offers Canadians a diverse lineup of mutual funds, portfolio solutions and guaranteed investments, empowering them to pursue their financial goals at every life stage. We bring together the strength of one of Canada’s most trusted names in financial services with some of the best asset managers from around the world to deliver a truly global investment platform.Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Intermediate Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting a variety of financial management functions for the Investment Solutions business unit, including support for SLGI Asset Management Inc, a mutual fund company, with specific accountability for financial reporting, analysis and controls.What will you do

  • Provide support to the SLGI Mutual Funds including the production of fund financial statements and regulatory reporting
  • Complete account reconciliations for asset and liability account balances on a monthly basis
  • Prepare, reconcile and complete the monthly Investment Management Fee Statements
  • Prepare Wire Transfers as required
  • Prepare manual journal entries
  • Support the monthly forecast process and quarterly financial reporting process for the Investment Solutions business unit
  • Build/modify reports to support existing or new reporting and operational requirements
  • Identify enhancements and improve operational efficiency
  • Provide on-going support to our teams control environment and work with internal/external auditors as required
What do you need to succeed
  • Accounting designation or degree would be an asset
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ownership and responsibility for meeting deadlines and accomplishing goals
  • Knowledge and experience with report writing tools, such as Tableau
  • Experience working with large data sets focusing on summarizing, extracting and reconciling data
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Assets:
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SAP ledger environment
  • Previous work experience in the investment or insurance industry
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or other investment related courses

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
