As the Manager, Fees & Billing, your primary role will be to manage and lead the Fees & Billing Team. The team is responsible for the accurate and timely collection of fees for services provided by GRS, this includes checking fees set up in the system agree to the client agreements. The role is key in supporting the overall internal control environment. The Manager will work with various internal teams from Business Development, Pricing, Operations, Documentation to Accounting, as you are primarily accountable for ensuring fees collected, charged for GRS products and services is accurate and complete. This is a people manager role, where you will lead a team of up to 7 individuals who will rely on you to provide leadership, coaching and support.What will you do

  • Responsible to lead and manage the GRS Fees & Billing Team.
  • Accountable to ensure fees are accurately set up and collected from our clients.
  • Responsible for validating new client fee set up, fee changes, product changes are properly set up in the system, added to invoicing tracker and reconciled to the agreement with the client.
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of invoices for clients to pay fees.
  • Review the work of billing staff to ensure accuracy and supporting files.
  • Provide support to internal teams to investigate disputes or inquiries concerning fees charged and invoices.
  • Support regulatory, compliance and accounting and audit requirements.
  • Responsible to ensure routine manual tasks are prepared, reviewed, and processed accurately.
  • Ensure the integrity of the control environment, report deficiencies identified and support new controls implemented or improve existing processes.
  • Provide ongoing training and development of all staff through mentoring and coaching.
What will you need to succeed
  • Strong people leader with management experience.
  • Experience as a Billing Manager within the insurance and financial services industry.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate using proven time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be effective when collaborating with various internal teams.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically with Excel (including VBA and Power Pivot functionality).

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
