Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.This role is responsible for oversight and support of the Third Party/Supplier Risk Management Program within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) function for Digital Business and Technology Solutions (DBTS). Successful candidates will be a third party/supplier subject matter expert, keeping current on industry activities and emerging third party/supplier risks.What will you do

• Program leadership for the Third Party/Supplier Risk Management Program within DBTS. Provides guidance and validation of Supplier Risk Assessments, validation of ongoing supplier due diligence activities and spend reports, maintains critical supplier profiles that consider subcontractor usage, concentration risk, privacy risk, information security/cyber risk, financial viability etc., monitors and provides oversight on supplier risk reports and Key Risk Indicators.

• Builds and maintains positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across DBTS (e.g., Risk teams, Information Security, Supplier Relationship Managers, Accountable Executives), Business and Corporate partners. Onboards and provides ongoing training related to Third Party Risk Management Policy requirements within DBTS and the related processes and tools.

• Escalates and reports on Third Party/Supplier Risk issues including Operational Risk Events and Policy Non-compliances.

• Contributes to the development and implementation of departmental plans; provide support and assistance to other members of the DBTS GRC team to help them.

• Contributes to operational risk management reporting to ensure that key enterprise-wide operational risk themes can be communicated to senior management.

• Supports DBTS with interactions regarding risk reporting with CORM and risk partners.

• Shares Third Party/Supplier Risk expertise and supports the evolution of the Third Party Risk Management program (e.g. good practices, alignment to OSFI B-10, emerging risks, inputs into Policy). Advises on the identification, assessment, management and monitoring of risk throughout the Third Party/Supplier lifecycle.

• Supports supplier reporting and provides system support for programs related to Information Security Risk Re-assessments and Business Continuity Questionnaires.

What you need to succeed:

• A post secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology or Business Administration
• 5 years Third Party Risk Management experience
• Relevant IT / best practice certifications ( ITIL, Risk, GRC, Privacy etc.) an asset
• Ariba knowledge an asset

Preferred skills

• Expert level knowledge in Third Party/Supplier Risk Management, preferably in the financial services industry
• Knowledge in Risk Management (Operational Risk Management)
• Management experience
• Ability to work independently and apply professional judgment to effectively diagnose the root cause of problems
• Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with tight deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational, relationship building and influencing skills
• Strategic thinker, able to articulate the big picture
• Experienced at supporting change and helping others through the process
• Familiarity with Sun Life Third Party Risk Management Policy and Risk Management Framework an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
