Job Description

Job Title: Marketing CoordinatorDepartment: AMCPosition Type: Full-TimeHours of Work: 40 HoursAbout us:InnovOak School is Waterloo Region’s newest private school. As our name suggests, we are focused on Innovation while remaining rooted in the traditional values of a good education. Our goal is to offer a strong JK-12 program focused on Today’s Learners, being Tomorrow’s LeadersAs an innovative education start-up, we pride ourselves on providing a strong academic program that will prepare graduates for post-secondary success. We are fully aligned to the Ontario Curriculum and has been approved for offering credits toward OSSD.We are looking to hire dynamic, highly skilled and motivated school marketing coordinator who will be tasked with not only marketing but also helping develop our recruitment and admissions strategiesOur ideal candidate will be able to accomplish the following:Responsibilities:

  • Create and vision a monthly, quarterly, and yearly marketing plan that can be successfully implemented. Draft marketing articles and slogans that can be successfully used in online media to support a variety of recruiting and admissions materials;
  • Create and manage our marketing content on all digital platforms, including school website, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, etc.;
  • Test new advertising channels, report on objectives and key results, and allocate advertising dollars towards approved productive initiatives;
  • Work closely with administrative leadership team to create and produce appropriate marketing content (e.g. posters and booklets);
  • Organize and help facilitate well planned and polished special events, such as admissions presentations, new family welcome, campus tours, (etc.), to attract potential students and parents.;
  • Support the recruitment and admissions process as needed, helping the marketing team to ensure successful completion of our high impact brand activities;
  • Strategize with the internal marketing and the school leaders on all outward facing opportunities to ensure ideas and solutions are being effectively developed;
  • Taking photos and shooting videos on a regular basis to create original education focused content during all major school events;
  • Finding unique ways to tell the story that creates a school brand, builds followers, and creates a strong online and provincial reputation as a successful school;
  • Develop, plan, and organize a variety of student and parent focused pre-admission activities focused on brand awareness, creating connections to the school and other important brand relationship strategies.
Requirement:Qualifications and Experience:
  • A marketing or other related degree from a relevant College or University;
  • Two years of marketing and digital communications experience is highly preferred;
  • Experience in school marketing considered a strong plus;
  • Professional experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator;
  • Technical skills in taking photos and shooting videos using DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras as well as editing through Adobe Photoshop and After Effect or Final Cut Pro;
  • Skills and experience in creating videos using YouTube and other platforms to present a relevant message or story is preferred;
  • Experience, understanding and savvy using targeted marketing on platforms such as Google or Facebook - being able to use demographics and metrics to target our marketing;
  • Small and Medium sized vent planning experiences are a plus;
  • While school admissions and recruitment experiences or skills are not a requirement, any demonstrated experiences linked to these areas and the marketing of the school brand would be highly valued;
  • Experience or an understanding of private school culture or understanding the local culture of Waterloo Region is a plus.

  • Proficiency in English with strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • A broad knowledge of students and teaching methods, ensuring equity of outcomes and cultural sensitivity;
  • Strong people and administrative skills, demonstrating professionalism.
Position Expectations
  • Must be adaptable, flexible and be willing to work closely in a collaborative working environment;
  • Must be willing to remain current with new activities, planning, and technological skills that show ongoing development;
  • This position does have a flexible schedule due to expectations that will require unusual hours of work at times when involved in marketing campaigns and attendance at school activities and events;
  • Must be able to pitch in and support the day-to-day function of the school when needed and supporting “all hands on deck” in large school activities.
