The primary role for this position will be as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting Canadian and US requirements with current versions of Oracle Database. A minimum of 3 to 5 year of experience in Information Technology is required as well as experience in relational and non-relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB to be able to support various teams within DMS.The DMS group has members in Canada, the US and India supporting a wide range of distributed and mainframe application who handle 7X24 rotational on-call duties, after hour change and disaster recovery support.This role requires Canadian Enhanced Reliability Security clearance [a minimum of 5 years of consecutive residency in Canada].What will you doAdministrative support of Oracle 12c and 19c and PostgreSQL databases including many of it’s sub-components.Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for all supported database related platformsInfrastructure support of Oracle including server/instance installs (stand-alone and clustered), service-pack upgrades, hot fixes, client tool installs, readiness programs, new feature exploitation, research and development (as needed by Infrastructure manager)Work with other Database Administrators or Developers in defining requirementsWorking on ways to automate and improve infrastructure as code release processesSupport Oracle Advanced Security features such as TDEPerformance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issuesSupport project development following documented standards, policies and procedures (Change Management Process)Manage regular reviews of database vulnerability scan and remediation of open vulnerabilitiesOccasional participation in after-hours and weekend support of production implementations, infrastructure activities, and various disaster recovery exercisesWorking closely with other team members, technical/team leads, management, specialized IT areas and application support teams to ensure consistent delivery and quality of database servicesDefine, document and implement consistent standards and proceduresContribute ideas for best practice improvements, process improvement, and innovative solutionsWhat you need to succeed:3+ Years of Technical experience working with Oracle 12c and 19c hosted on Unix and Linux platforms.1+ years of Technical experience working with PostgreSQL version 9+ up till latest version 12.3 hosted on Linux platforms University level degree in Computer Science or Information technologyStrong PLSQL skills that including a strong understanding of system tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL tuningParticipation in database upgrade, cloning, platform migration, installations and patchingExperience with Oracle database monitoring and tuning using native Oracle or other third-party toolsInvolvement with Embarcadero DBArtisan and native Oracle as well as other third-party toolsKnowledge with Oracle Key Vault, Veritas clustering software and AIX and Linux operating systemsKnowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager or GRID Control, RMAN backup and recovery strategies, Oracle replication, mirroring, log shipping, maintenance plans and DR recovery strategiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWillingness to provide on-call support and trouble shootingStrong organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks efficientlyWillingness to share ideas and contribute solutions, take initiative and speak up in groupsWhat’s in it for you:Joining an organization that the industry calls ‘one of the best places to workBeing part of our journey in developing the next greatest digital experienceFlexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your familyWellness programs that support the three pillars of your health – mental, physical and financialAn extensive support system for continual learning including company-run courses, access to online learning platforms, opportunity for rotations and cross training and moreA flexible work schedule within core business working hoursThe Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
