This technical editor role will review customer-facing documentation for the Magnet Forensics line of products. As part of the Product Management organization, this role will work closely with Technical Writers, Technical Support reps, Product Managers, UX designers, Developers, Testers, and Forensic Examiners to support the production of high quality and accurate technical content for forensic examinersRole Responsibility:Ensure the quality and consistency of technical content for Magnet Forensics software.Conduct substantive edits, copy edits, proofreads, and content audits of product documentation and knowledge base articles.Make sure technical content follows Magnet Forensics style guidelines and that language is clear, concise, consistent, and correct.Advocate for customers and collaborate with Technical Writers and Technical Support reps to create clear, usable content.Research content standards and maintain style guidelines and templates for product documentation.Define and document UI string guidelines for Magnet Forensics software in collaboration with the UX teamQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in English or similar. A Technical Writing certificate is an asset.3+ years experience editing technical documentation for software products.Superb understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Outstanding attention to detail.Strong familiarity with DITA and minimalism.Knack for translating difficult concepts into plain language.Strong sense of teamwork, personal integrity, and accountability.Ability to work with cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.Familiar with standard issue-tracking and source control software like JIRA, Git, and Gerrit.Experience with XML and CSS is a plus.Working Conditions:General office environment/Work from home office environmentProlonged sitting – 6+ hoursMay be required to work extra hoursMay be required to travel/Out of country travel required/Travel required to meet the responsibilities of the positionMagnet Forensics Inc. is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
