Job Description

Worker Sub-Type:Regular BlackBerry’s Cyber Security team is looking for a technical writer to support the documentation requirements of BlackBerry’s information security management program and regulatory and compliance frameworks. This role acts independently while interacting and communicating with various levels across BlackBerry function teams and business units. The ideal candidate has experience working with technical terms and concepts and has a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.This role will report to the Director, Cyber Security Governance, Risk & Compliance.Responsibilities

  • Creates and publishes technical documentations and manuals.
  • Collects and interprets technical data or information and coordinates layout for publication.
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manual
  • Research, develop and document all types of documentation
  • Produce electronic documentation
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation
  • Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Working with internal teams on product and documentation requirements
  • Writing easy-to-understand user and developer guides
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, first degree, or equivalent experience in Technical Communications
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of related experience
  • Proven experience working in a technical writing position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to deliver high quality documentation, paying attention to detail
  • Able to work with SMEs and to obtain technical details
  • Follows documentation process from initial draft to final document approval
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Skilled at prioritization work and multi-tasking
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures

  • Be outgoing, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with small and large teams
  • Experience with security concepts, best practices, and relevant controls
