NURSING SUPERVISOR - CASUALKings Regional Rehabilitation Centre is currently seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, creative individuals as aNURSING SUPERVISOR for casual employment. As a member of the KRRC Team, you will play an active rolein the implementation of our programs and services supporting persons with intellectual disabilities and variousdiagnosis towards a client-centred alliance fostering independence, community integration, lifeexperiences and supported decision making.Position ScopeUnder the direction of the Director of Client Care (In-Centre) the Nursing Supervisor plays a crucial role inensuring a high quality of nursing care for 220 clients living In-Centre and Community Options. Working as acollaborative member of our medical, nursing and leadership team, the Nursing Supervisor provides directionand support to front-line staff and clients consistent with the mission, vision, and philosophy of Kings RegionalRehabilitation Centre (KRRC).The Nursing Supervisor is directly responsible for clients, staff and building safety for KRRC on evenings,weekends. They coordinate client care and services in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.Qualifications Graduate of a baccalaureate program in nursing or a diploma in nursing and eligible for registration inNova Scotia. Knowledge and/or experience in the field of mental health, intellectual disabilities,addiction, children, and geriatrics an asset. CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. (NOTE: KRRC offersNVCI to successful candidates who need this course, at the employee’s expense.) As per the government, must provide proof of COVID-19 double vaccination. Availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays; shift work; days, evenings and nights. Required to provide Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check. Regular and consistent attendance is requiredRESPONSIBILITIES: Overall operation of the Centre after hours, holidays, weekends and anytime SeniorManagement are not present. Provide direction, supervision and support to clients and staff. Assume a leadership role during crisis (medical, environmental or logistical). Provide direct client care as required. Provide a positive, professional role model for clients and staff.Occupational Health and Safety: Collaborates with the OHN in relation to the IPAC initiative. Works in collaboration with Boiling Operator during code red emergencies to provide firstresponders access to the facility.Communication: Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to promote and enhance positive, collaborative working relationships.Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre Offers: Competitive PayScale, PLUS weekend and shift premiums.
