Utility Worker Food Services - CasualCentrally located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Kings RegionalRehabilitation Centre (KRRC) serves some 200 children and adults with physical, intellectualand developmental disabilities, mental health and social challenges. KRRC employs over 600professional and support staff on a casual, part and full-time basis, making our organizationone of the largest employers in the region. Staff are employed both within the main Centreand in smaller, Community Options homes.This position, reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, is responsible for the performanceof dish-room including sanitary washing of dishes; dining-room, including serving clients withina cafeteria style and kitchen tasks within the facility. Kitchen tasks include pre-prep ofvegetables and sandwich making. All tasks are performed safely, with attention to hygienestandards and per established food handling standards.Working as part of the Food Services team, you will be assisting to prepare and serve 185clients nutritious, attractive meals. As casual staff your reliability is important and you willbe scheduled in advance for some shifts and on-call for other shifts.KRRC provides a competitive salary and opportunity for application to permanent jobpostings.These positions are members of the CUPE Local 1472.The successful candidate will have the following: High school diploma - Grade XII or the equivalent Proof of COVID-19 Double Vaccination Any food services related experience is an asset Food handling course an asset Comfortable and respectful of people with disabilities Able to work safely and with attention to hygiene standards that meet Infection Controlstandards. Ability to withstand the physical nature of the job including standing, bending, kneeling, andthe lifting and moving of heavy and awkward objects.
