POSITION NOTICE(Internal & External) POSITION No. 22-051Applications are invited for the following position:AREA: Environmental ServicesCLASSIFICATION: Environmental Services Supervisor – 1 PFT (75.00 Hours Bi-weekly)POSITION SCOPE: Responsible to the Operations Manager, for the performanceof housekeeping and laundry within the facilities. Theindividual will exhibit sound judgement and initiative whileworking within the framework of the objectives of the serviceand the organization as a whole.RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates the planning, organization, implementation,monitoring, scheduling and evaluation of EnvironmentalServices. Communicates pertinent information, such as departmentactivities, needs and problems to the Operations Manager tomaintain the continuity of the housekeeping and laundryservice. Promotes and maintains good working relationships andcommunications within the facilities, with other programpersonnel and with clients and general public. Provides leadership, coaching, problem-solving support andreinforcement of the Centre’s mission and values to allEnvironmental Services. Ensures Environmental Services is regularly envaulted forwell-defined and realistic planning objectives, organizationalefficiency, adequacy of resources, economy, efficiency andeffectiveness in meeting client needs, consistency with theCentre’s mission, and compatibility with other communityservices. Ensures the continued integrity of the program by maintainingquality control standards. Assisting in orientation of new employees, supporting fellowworkers where possible and appropriate, and maintainingappropriate records, statistics, progress notices, inventoriesand other related data as required. Assists in acquiring equipment and supplies appropriate to theprogram, and safeguards and maintains these resourceseffectively, and uses them efficiently. Complies with Quality Management Program by keeping up-to-date on developments in the laundry and housekeepingservices and by participating in the continual development ofthe program and its personnel. Collaborates with the Operations Manager and Managers todevelop and implement operational policy and systems;including policy related to emergency response, qualityassurance, utilization review, risk management andoccupational health and safety as it relates to the program. Assists in the design of job descriptions and specifications forapproved positions.QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate or diploma in Laundry and Environmental Servicesis preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Highschool diploma (grade 12) or GED equivalent.
