POSITION NOTICE(Internal and External)POSITION No. 22-044Applications are invited for the following position:AREA: Food ServicesCLASSIFICATION: Food Services Coordinator – .6 PPT (45 hours bi-weekly)POSITION SCOPE: Under the direction of the Manager of Food Services, the FoodServices Coordinator provides day-to-day leadership in thefood service area and provides direct supervision in theabsence of the Food Services Supervisor.RESPONSIBILITIES: Interviews, hires, and disciplines Food Services staff, inconjunction with the Manager of Food Services, as perestablished policies and procedures of the Centre. Works with Food Services Supervisor and ProductionCharge Person to direct and supervise staff. Conducts employee performance appraisals asrequired. Prepares time schedules for all food services staff andsecures replacements as necessary. Ensures effective ordering. Participates in food costing analysis. Maintains petty cash. Participates in Inservice and staff developmentprograms as appropriate. Committee responsibilitiesinclude Food Services CQI Committee and FoodServices Staff meetings and other committees asdetermined by the Manager. Assists in the evolution of standardized recipes andportion control to ensure high quality products andminimal waste. Contributes to the development and upholding of areapolicies and procedures. Supervises tray service for clients and staff, performswaste checks and supports adjustments to productionsheet. Provides coverage in the absence of FoodService Supervisor. Ensures proper portion sizes,adherence to client diet orders, and compliance withestablished food service procedures. Supervises sanitation and housekeeping procedures. Maintains safety standards. Attends professional meetings and conferences;reviews relevant publications.
